Yet, where are all the angry women readers? Took me three months to read this one, and after that last page, I want to start all over again. The translation is perfectly smooth. The other thing that I did not particularly like about this book was its repetitiveness.


This book is possibly the best book I have read of mruakami times.

Aomame, stuck in a traffic jam on the Metropolitan Expressway, is about to kill a wife-beating oil broker with an ice pick. As mentioned there are more than a few Murakami magic moments. There is nothing wrong with any of the aforementioned as it stands, to each their own, and it would not be a problem if it served a purpose to the story but as far as I’m aware so far it really doesn’t.

The plot wasn’t bad. When Ebisuno attempts to contact Fukada at Sakigake, he is told that he is unavailable. Murakami spent four years writing the novel after coming up with the opening sequence and title.

I don’t know what Murakami is tapped into, I don’t know where his talent, his inspiration comes from, but it never fails to move me. Once start, finish the book.

After roughly four weeks, my journey through the world of 1Q84 has come to murakaji. And how does it tie in with Sakigake and Fuka-Eri? It would have still been a terrible book, but I would feel less betrayed by this fact. A willingness to stretch his limitations and making them join hands with his strengths. Aomame comes across as a flat, two-dimensional character whose main purpose is to serve as an older murakwmi fantasy.
