KILE OKULAR INVERSE SEARCH PDF
If yes, look at what happened to me: I had the same problem of inverse search not working. The answer can’t be simpler. Be sure select Browse. This feature is a huge time-saver, so I decided to make a little howto about it. Basically, click on a spot in the source file or in the DVI output, and Kile will take you. In this post I will discuss configuring kile and okular with synctex. For forward search (kile to okular), put your cursor in any text part of your tex.

I already have inverse search working in Okular. Kile scrolls the file in the exact location. Email Required, but never shown. Email Required, but never shown.

Thanks a lot for your help, Khopstick. If you found a solution, please post it as an answer. Okular opens the file to the exact page of your text. Okular automatically opens the pdf file in the exact page where your cursor is in kile. It should jump to that location in the DVI.

Tags for this Thread kdvikileokular. The KDVI website says this is part of the kdegraphics package but it no longer? Does anyone know how to fix that?

Or alternatively how can I change my dvi viewer in kile from okular to Kdvi viewer? If not then kule the following: I got it working exactly like KDVI. Glad it helped you. I found this link from the University of Illinois and their suggestions worked; I’m working in Fedora 17, in case it makes any difference. This ensures the required synctex information is included in the PDF files, so Okular knows how to map locations in the PDF to locations in the source.
I am running Ubuntu with Kile 2.
My solution above fixed the inverse search, but forward search still opens a new instance of the dvi file. For all like me who drove crazy because they wouldn’t understand why the feature suddently didn’t work anymore. I tried it with Kile 2. Be sure select Browse tool in Okular, not Zoom or anything else. First you have to change the LaTeX build tools from Default to Modern go to the build tool configuration menu and select Latex, then select Modern in the drop-down menu to the right.
In my case, I could not get inverse search to work using any of the above suggestions while using latex. View Finally configure the Quick build option.
